The Islamic Art Association of Iran was established in order to expand, develop and advance knowledge related to Islamic and Iranian art. The IAAOI also aims to aid the development of experts and improve the quality and quantity of educational and research activities in the fields of Islamic Arts.

With the help of many people active in Iranian Islamic art and culture the Islamic Art Association of Iran was approved on 28 November 2012 by the Commission of the Scientific Associations of Iran located in the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and on 09 November 2013, the IAAOI was registered (with reg. no. 32784) in Tehran’s Office of Companies and Non-Commercial Institutions. The founding members comprise of scholars and researchers in Islamic art and knowledge who are working hard to realize and implement the objectives of the association.
