al.arte.magazine is an online magazine with a focus on art, culture, music, film, theatre, dance, poetry, design, fashion, ànd more from the Arab and muslim world. A different, surprising voice from a universe that hardly ever gets a good press. The magazine was established in 2012, born out of a long-time passion of founder and editor-in-chief Malikka Bouaissa.

We aim to capture and present cultural production from mainly the Mashriq, Maghreb, and their diasporas. Serving as a creative map for a wide audience, al.arte zooms in on visual arts, music, theater, film, dance, and highlights other performing arts as well as literature.

al.arte.magazine is not funded by a commercial media group nor by advertisers or governments. To cover our expenses we are calling on readers with a heart for quality journalism.
